Bethany Kennedy

My name is Bethany. I am a people person and enjoy meeting and getting to know individuals of all ages. I love spending time with my three children and cheering them on at their activities. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, going on walks, camping, being near the water, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, going on road trips, and spending time with friends and family.

My work as a CNA just after high school, led me to a career as a registered nurse. Currently I work as a public health nurse, providing services to young families and their babies. I assist them with finding needed resources, learning life skills, and providing parenting education, developmental screenings, and assessment and monitoring of their infant’s feeding patterns and growth. I have been trained in the Healthy Families America model of home visiting, using the Growing Great Kids Inc. curriculum. I also have training in labor and delivery, prenatal and postpartum care, infant care and feeding practices, infant and child development. I am specifically passionate about the effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACES), on an individual’s life, and their future.

I am a lifelong equestrian and animal-lover; riding, showing, and training horse. As a youth, I participated in 4-H, FFA, WSCA, Quarter Horse breed shows, and U of W River Falls program. I have provided lessons to 4-Hers, disabled youth, and adults. As an adult, I enjoy watching my kids show their horses in game events in 4-H and open shows, as well as barrel races. I find my peace on the back of a horse, so try to ride as much as possible, and love to go on the occasional trail ride. I have coached Four Horseshoes, a Special Olympics equestrian delegation, and found so much joy in that volunteer experience. My kids and I consider our three horses and two dogs a very special part of our family.

I believe that everyone should be supported in their pursuit of building a life that brings them joy and showcases their true self. My life and work experiences, as well as my training, allow me to assist others in developing their strengths, and increase communication and problem-solving skills that will aid them in their success. I’m passionate about the process of helping others through their personal journey.
