Mission Statement:

Rolling Hills Equine’s Mission is to improve lives by inspiring hope and empowerment through healthy outdoor activities and connection to the natural world.

What We Do

Rolling Hills Equine is based out of Knapp, WI. We offer equine and non-equine services. Our staff provides services to individuals who need help in their recovery with confidence, relationship building, emotional regulation, substance abuse, PTSD, coping skills, alleviating depression/anxiety, finding interests in hobbies, getting them out in the community, learning daily living skills, listening to their story and helping them through whatever they are going through in their life.

Depending upon location, individuals can come out to the farm to find that calmness and fresh air while others may go into the home or within the community to work on the goals that they want to achieve in their recovery. We meet the client where they are at in that present moment and help them develop the tools to succeed, excel and reach their goals in recovery.

Equine-Assisted Therapy

Equine-assisted therapy is effective for a wide range of mental health disorders including addiction, depression, anxiety and trauma. Rolling Hills Equine Center provides a unique equine-assisted therapy program that uses interaction with horses to offer clients a new way to connect with themselves, process their emotions and explore behaviors and relationship patterns that have become problematic in their day-to-day lives.  This service is for our local area and counties where travel isn’t too much of a barrier.

Horses are majestic, gentle creatures and their sheer size and strength can stir deeply buried emotions in clients. Clients are able to bond with the animals and learn valuable lessons about respect, empathy and communication that will help them in their recovery journey.

Non-Equine Related Activities

Our providers go into the consumers home or out into the community to work on daily living skills, social anxiety, job placement, physical exercise, diet and nutrition, learn new interests and hobbies, building relationships, housing, help obtaining drivers license, help obtaining HSED/GED, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, organization, scheduling, managing their symptoms by developing coping skills, mentoring, and helping them to live independently. Each of our providers specializes in multiple areas and Rolling Hills excels with pairing the right provider to a consumer. As a team they will develop the tools to reach the consumers goals.

Our Facility

All ages love to come to Rolling Hills for many reasons. The beautiful scenery and different animals to meet and play with are a favorite. The peaceful and welcoming atmosphere provides a “safe” place for all individuals who step foot on the property. Relationship building and camaraderie amongst youth and adolescents are a regular occurrence with kick ball games, scavenger hunts, exploring, sledding and team building events. There are paths within the pine trees where you can go for beautiful walks to see wildlife or go geocaching to look for treasures hidden in the pines. The beautiful Wilson Creek is nestled on the outside of the property where it is considered a class A trout stream. Individuals may throw a line to catch a trout or sit by the river on authentic hand-made benches to watch the water flow and listen to the wildlife.
